HACCP

HACCP is the abbreviation of "Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points". This abbreviation is used internationally for a system of preventive measures used for ensuring that foods and nutrients are safe in terms of human health, applied in all activities related to production, processing, storage, handling, carriage, and sale to the end user.

The HACCP system indicates the means and processes required to prevent against risks threatening the consumer, before they can become manifest. Above all, a properly implemented and functioning HACCP system reduces the risk to the consumer’s health and protects the manufacturer and vendor in the event of a damage claim for injury to health.

Certification of the HACCP system is always verified and awarded by qualified external auditors, on the basis of an audit of several days in all areas concerned by the system.

Since 2004, LEROS has held the HACCP certificate and the ISO 9001:2008, and in 2008, both certificates were successfully renewed in the re-certification process.

ISO

ISO 9001 is an internationally recognised standard for a Quality Management System (QMS). The standard sets out a system and set of rules that ensure a purposeful approach to the management of all parts of production and business activities, so as to ensure the satisfaction of every customer through the meeting of his requirements.

GMP

GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practice. It is a system for managing an organisation, in particular as concerns product safety and a guarantee of quality guarantee for the end consumer. This system guarantees the quality, stability, and contents of effective substances in production.

LEROS manufactures fully in line with GMP – Good Manufacturing Practice. A good manufacturing practice is required by law in the production of medications, but the company adheres to the same principles even in making herbal teas that are classified as nutritional supplements and in the making of food products.

BIO

BIO is the Czech national mark for organic foods. The Ministry of Agriculture has authorised selected organisations to grant the BIO certificate, on the basis of an audit that checks compliance with all of the conditions set by the applicable legislation.

LEROS holds an organic farming certificate (BIO).

KLASA

The national mark KLASA is awarded by the Czech Ministry of Agriculture and informs food consumers and retailers that a product bearing the KLASA mark is:

  • Of an above-standard quality, guaranteeing its uniqueness as compared to regular products available on the Czech market;
  • Wholly or partially made of domestic ingredients;
  • Contains a 100% share of domestic work;
  • Its quality is comparable to or better than that of similar imported products or its recipe is unique;
  • Its quality is constant, including adherence to hygienic and technological processes, composition, or, for example, packaging;
  • Its gastronomic properties are constant and of an appropriate standard.

In June 2005, LEROS earned the national KLASA mark for the first five of its products, and in 2011 the company again met the above-standard criteria and the KLASA mark was re-granted to it for those five products.
